There are at least two configurations of plug for the bottom. The first was
slotted and is extracted like a screw using threads. The next, and to my
knowledge last, was not slotted and was pushed in. If yours are slotted,
just use a big screwdriver and unscrew them.
This tech article I wrote may help you. If your carbs are the earliest
configuration they may have the needle inserted from the bottom. I have no
experience with this type. If yours are attached to the air valve the below
instructions should work for you. Good luck.
