Brass plug on carb float bowl

Hello List:

My carb project is progressing slowly.  (Time to tinker is short!)  Can 
someone tell me how to remove the brass plug on the bottom of the carb?  The 
float bowl is loose but feels like it's pivoting in the center, as though 
it's fastened.  Is the plug holding the float bowl onto the main carb body 
somehow?
