Jim---Needing to replace the truck's water pump shortly after flushing
the radiator could have been a coinkydink. Better that flushing, or
preferably back-flushing be done routinely on your TR, like every three
years or so. Doing this on my TR has kept the cooling system working
well, without the aid of any gimmicks. I can't predict the outcome (for
leaks) if you decide to do this now. Fortunately, prices and parts for
our TR's look to be still available and relatively cheap. What I would
suggest doing to see what kind of shape the flow in your radiator is, is
to take off the bottom hose, put a garden hose in the top and see just
how fast the water comes out the bottom. On a clear radiator, it will
gush out. Go from there...

Hello,

I flushed a cooling system one time, on a truch I owned. Two weeks later I
had to replace the water pump on the truck. Since then I've been gunshy
about flushing cooling systems.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about flushing a TR6 cooling
system. Mine has sat for 10 years, but is operating fine. I just worry
about these things.

Ciao,
