Tom-Before you remove the trans. make sure it is trans. oil that is leaking.
Next make sure that the leak is from inside the bell housing. It could be
coming from the top cover, fill or drain plug, or rear extension, or rear
seal. If the leak is in the bell housing, then the culprit is either the
front seal, countershaft cover, or the front cover for the oil seal. The
trans. can't be removed without taking off the tunnel cover, but a few
minutes with the car on a lift (preferably running) to locate the source of
the leak, might eliminate the need to remove it. Good luck. Berry
