Woohoo! Well, we're the proud new owners of CF 53032UO, a 76 White TR6.
Everyone on the list that helped us find a car and do an intelligent
investigation has our sincerest thanks.
Our drive down from PA was smooth. There was a bit of a shake at 70 mph +,
but very friendly around 65 mph. I'm going to take her in to make sure
wheels are balanced and properly in alignment. Tires are very good, so that
shouldn't be a cause. If you have any other suggestions that we should check
out, let me know. Wheel bearings don't have any noticeable excessive play.
We had a few sprinkles for a while, but then the heavens opened up, and we
had to flip on the wipers for the first time. Two "newbie" observations: 1.
man, this thing gets warm with the top up and windows closed! 2. wipers are
a bit interesting... (we're having fun already!!)
...which brings me to new owner question Numero Uno: The wipers won't return
to home position when turned off. I can gently push them back down, but
after they run, they simply stop in the far left operating position. Normal?
Not normal but fixable?
Thanks for any insights. Hope to meet many of you at the TRials.
