Mike-It is a threaded oil gallery plug in disguise. Some genius at Triumph discovered that a few pennies could be saved by using a piece of threaded aluminum rod instead of a conventional plug. These were called "plug sticks", made like a segmented "tootsie roll",were screwed in to the hole and then cut off. I remember seeing them in an old TRF news letter, but don't know if they are still available. After you remove the old plug with an EZ out, it can be replaced with a conventional plug. Berry |
