Interior question

While my car is laid up with fuel problems, I'm getting to work on the
interior. It is black now, but was biscuit (or whatever) origianally, so
I'm changing back. I've been looking at interior parts and notice that
the "trim pad door finisher" (as per the VB catalog, pg 47 and Moss pg
48) is only available in black. As far as I can tell, the same is true
from other supplieers. Was this top piece along the door black for all
interiors when new? Thanks.
