Chris---When you say he door rattles, can you shake it enough to affect
the door gap in doing so, or is the rattle internal? How 'bout
excessive play in the door ratchet,? or whatever it's called. Is the
door still lockable both when it rattles and when it doesn't? Does the
door skin line up with the rear fender? Can you compare any of the
measurements with those of the passenger door?
Finally, make an outline of the striker plate with a marking pen after
you get it tight enough so it doesn't rattle. Make veeerrry slight
adjustments outward from this outline, and maybe you can hit on a happy
medium. Be sure it "catches" on the second tooth of the ratchet, and not
just on the safety catch. Some well-placed oil can help all around.
