Thanks Berry. After some minor experientation a distance of 7/8" from each
end of the shock to the washer gave the compression you spoke about and left
ample room for the nut and locknut with a couple threads showing. The
shocks are working well and make a huge difference in ride and handling.
Installed new rear coil spring insulators too.
