Carl,
There are two other components that you must check. First, when you
press the horn button on the wheel, does the horn relay on the left
fenderwell click? If not, you have to check the horn switch or the relay
wiring. If it does click you will still need to check the relay wiring. A
wiring diagram and multimeter are invaluable in diagnosing this type of
problem. Let me know if you need one. By the way the reason the horn did
not sound right when you jumped it is probably because you activated only
one of the horns. There are two, a low note and a high note. If one of
these horns is internally shorted, niether will work. I had this problem
with my own car. Disconnecting the failed horn got the system working
again, although only with the high note horn. Let me know what you find.
