The troublesome pins can be installed with less frustration this way. Use a
small punch, ice pick, etc. Place the tool between the escutcheon and
handle. Push until the tool can be partially inserted into the hole to hold
everything in place. Use needle nose pliers to start the pin from the
opposite side containing the tool. A screwdriver can be used to push in the
pin which also pushes out the tool. Once the pin is in place, the
escutcheon will snap into place.
Rear of the car noise can come from several places, the differential, shock
links, trailing arm banging on the brackets, a broken front right dif
mount, exhaust system, lever shocks loose.
