Jorge-you made a wise choice switching from the 15x7 to 16x7" Panasports.
You do not have to worry about clearance of front suspension parts with the
16x7s, and you also now can choose from a wider variety of tires in the 16"
range. I went with 215x60/16 Michelin Pilot XGTH4s on my TR6 and have had
terrific luck. The overall diameter (height) of this tire is within 1/8" of
the stock Michelin redlines that I was running, but the footprint is wider
by 50% (7.5" compared to 5" with the redlines). These tires fit nicely
within the front and rear wheel wells and do not rub even at full steering
lock. I have been running my Panasports for about a year now and this
tire/wheel combination has proven to be terrific in terms of handling, ride
quality and looks! Make sure when you have the tires and wheels balanced
that you ask the shop to use stick on weights on the inside of the wheel so
that you don't have any unsightly wheel weights hanging on the outside of
the wheel. Feel free to e-mail if you have any other wheel/tire questions.
