In answer to Gabriel's recent dilemma about $1,000 for a pretty good TR6
body and misc. engine componets:
It's worth it if you do not get a divorce as a result. I recently
attempted to solve the same type of dilemma by buying my wife the item
(a very nice sand wedge she did not need). One of my partners (a duck
hunter) bought his wife a new 12 gauge shotgun one Christmas, a bold
move IMO. If buying your wife the TR6 is out, how about asking her to
make the decision?
We have put about $10,000 into her TR250 in last two years, and still
need paint job. I wish I had just done a frame up restoration: but I'm
judging in hindsight.
Can anyone recommend a British car painter in the San Francisco Bay
Area? All the legit shops in my area want a little over $5,000 for a
total paint job. We just don't want to spend that kind of money, and
would rather have someone who does this as a side business/hobby. I
have a couple of leads, but am interested in any suggestions other
6-Packers might have.
Sincerely, Neil Moran
