Mark---The installation of these nylon throttle shaft bushngs will
probably draw a lot of different replies on how to install them, as
they're real buggers to put it mildly. After I "boiled and oiled" to
tame them, I still ended up cutting about a 1/8" diagonal slice out of
each one, and tapping them in with a blunt punch. This "slice" reduced
the (squeezed) OD, allowing it to reluctantly enter the bore. I tried
this with and without the shaft itself, but don't remember the final
configuration.
Later, with the engine out, I put in my own throttle shaft roller
bearings mounted on plates that screw to the firewall. Period.
