Ben---There are a variety of "stick on" digital clocks that would nicely
cover the hole left by the rheostat knob. You could even put the
rheostat back in, knob included, even tho non-functioning. This would
preserve "the look." I prefer to use various apertures in my dash for
gauges that the factory thought unneccessary, leaving the clock on my
wrist.

Greetings Listers!
I recently removed the dash light dimmer unit (rheostat) from my instrument
panel and am left with the ugly hole. A clock matching the the other dash
instruments seems the obvious next step, but I was wondering if anybody knows
of one on the market that would fit and look good, but not require making the
hole larger. I'd hate to damage the panel if I decide to restore it back to
the original.
Thanks in advance,
Ben Burnweit
